Volunteering in the Highwoods.
We have regular workparties meeting twice a month on a Thursday and once a month on a Saturday. We are a friendly bunch and the accent is on informality and enjoyment while at the same time making the woods a better place for wildlife and visitors.
Regular tasks include path maintenance making sure they are secure and cutting back any vegetation which is in the way. Repairing bridges/fencing etc. as required. We also spend a lot of our time improving habitat for wildlife, making sure the clearings in the wood are kept open and removing invasive scrub.
We start at 9.30am and usually work for a couple of hours which is then followed by coffee and homemade cakes. Why not come and give us try,
